guides families in navigating the mental health system
What questions do they need to ask?
What can they expect at any point in their mental health journey?
Decreases post-discharge contact with busy clinical staff.
Provides regular follow-up with the discharged patient by an experienced clinician, with the objectives of:
explaining psychiatric jargon in clear, understandable language.
preventing readmission.
facilitating adherence to discharge plan.
locating community resources.
assists in managing behavioral health insurance
Advocates for the client with their healthcare insurance company.
Review and evaluate current coverage.
Manage bills and claims to ensure they are being processed correctly.
Work with healthcare providers and client’s insurance company to expedite approval of services & claims processing.
Facilitate the submission of appeals when claims have been denied or processed incorrectly.
When indicated, pursue alternate avenues for approval of services, such as P2P’s and/or SCA’s.
